Following my education at the Amsterdam School of Graphic Arts and the Rijksakademie at Amsterdam, I worked for years as a graphic designer. During these years, spurred by my interests, I kept myself busy on the side experimenting with etching and painting. Towards the end of the 80s, I began to develop a strong interest in the visual qualities of existing materials and forms. Playing around with these qualities, I have created a vast collection of such figurative objects. My guiding principles have been association (between material, content and form), simplicity and originality, and last but not least, humour and perspective.
Over the last 30 years I have had numerous opportunities to exhibit my work, both individually as well as in group settings, at locations as diverse as N.K.S., Amsterdam, gemeentehuis Laren, Vishal Haarlem, Singer Laren, Kunstliefde Utrecht, De Illusie Rotterdam, Kruithuis Den Bosch, G.S.A. Hilversum, and Wonderwood Amsterdam.
Articles about my work have appeared in de Gooi- en Eemlander,Utrechts Nieuwsblad, Elle Wonen,Wallpaper, Figaro Japon en DCasa.
